We stand behind the quality of our courses. If you're not satisfied, request a full refund within 7 days of your cohort start date (or purchase date for self-paced courses).
1. Refund Eligibility
1.1 Live Cohort Courses
You are eligible for a 100% refund if you request it within 7 calendar days of your cohort's official start date.
Important: The 7-day window begins on your cohort start date, NOT your enrollment date. If you enroll 2 weeks before the cohort starts, the refund window begins when the cohort starts.
1.2 Self-Paced (Offline) Courses
For self-paced courses without a scheduled cohort, you are eligible for a 100% refund if you request it within 7 calendar days of your purchase date.
1.3 After the 7-Day Window
Refund requests made after the 7-day window has expired are not eligible for a refund, except in the special circumstances described in Section 6.
1.4 Eligibility Examples
- Enrollment Date: March 1, 2026
- Cohort Start Date: March 15, 2026
- Refund Request Date: March 20, 2026 (5 days after cohort start)
- Result: Full refund approved
- Enrollment Date: March 1, 2026
- Cohort Start Date: March 15, 2026
- Refund Request Date: March 25, 2026 (10 days after cohort start)
- Result: Refund denied (beyond 7-day window)
- Purchase Date: March 10, 2026 (self-paced course, immediate access)
- Refund Request Date: March 15, 2026 (5 days after purchase)
- Result: Full refund approved (within 7 days of purchase)
2. How to Request a Refund
2.1 Refund Request Process
To request a refund:
- Email us at contact@algoengineer.com within the 7-day refund window.
- Include the following information:
- Full name
- Email address used for enrollment
- Course name and cohort start date (or purchase date for self-paced courses)
- Reason for refund (optional, but helps us improve)
- Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours acknowledging your refund request.
- Processing: Approved refunds are processed within 5-7 business days.
2.2 Refund Timeline
Email Confirmation: Within 24 hours of your request
Refund Processing: 5-7 business days after approval
Funds Returned: 5-10 additional business days (depends on your bank or card issuer)
3. Refund Method
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used during enrollment:
- Credit Card: Refund appears on your credit card statement within 5-10 business days after processing.
- Debit Card: Refund credited to your bank account within 5-10 business days after processing.
We do not issue refunds via check, wire transfer, cryptocurrency, or alternative payment methods. Refunds can only be issued to the original payment method on record.
4. What Happens After a Refund
4.1 Course Access Revoked
Once a refund is processed, your access to the following will be revoked:
- Student dashboard and course materials
- Recorded lectures and course recordings
- Problem bank, code editor, and solutions
- Mock interview scheduling
- Live Zoom class sessions
4.2 Re-Enrollment
You may re-enroll in the same course or a different cohort at any time. However, you will need to pay the current course price. Promotional pricing or discounts from your original enrollment may not apply to re-enrollments.
5. Non-Refundable Scenarios
Refunds are NOT available in the following cases:
- After 7-Day Window: Requests made more than 7 calendar days after the cohort start date (or purchase date for self-paced courses)
- Course Completion: If you have completed more than 50% of the course curriculum at the time of the request, as measured by our learning management system
- Account Violations: If your account was suspended or terminated due to violations of our Terms of Service (including plagiarism, content sharing, or harassment)
If you used a promotional code or discount, any approved refund will be based on the actual amount you paid, not the original listed price.
6. Special Circumstances
6.1 Medical Emergencies and Hardship
In cases of documented medical emergencies, military deployment, or significant unforeseen life events, contact us at contact@algoengineer.com. We will review your situation on a case-by-case basis and may offer:
- Transfer to a future cohort at no additional charge
- Extended refund consideration beyond the standard 7-day window
We may request supporting documentation (e.g., a doctor's note or military orders) at our discretion.
6.2 Course Cancellations by AlgoEngineer
If we cancel a cohort due to insufficient enrollment, instructor unavailability, or other operational reasons, you will receive:
- Option 1: Full refund processed within 5 business days
- Option 2: Transfer to the next available cohort at no additional cost
We will notify you of the cancellation and your options via email.
7. Chargebacks
We encourage you to contact us directly to resolve any payment concerns before initiating a chargeback (dispute) with your bank or credit card company. Chargebacks initiated without first attempting to resolve the issue through our refund process may result in account suspension, and fraudulent chargebacks may result in permanent account termination. Please see Section 5.5 of our Terms of Service for details.
